The Led Zeppelin tribute show performed by 8Forty8 on Saturday the 18th of February
was a huge success! around 1500 people
turned out for an afternoon of classic Led Zeppelin. The weather was beautiful on
the day and the audience was amazing,
ages ranged from young to old and everyone appeared to have a great time. The band
opened the show with a couple of original
songs from their forthcoming album that featured the amazing sound of Hammond organ
through a Leslie cabinet cranking through
the front of house delighting classic rock fans. From there the band launched into
the Zeppelin material with a pumping version of
"Immigrant Song" then "The Song Remains The Same" saw the introduction of the
doubleneck guitar onto the stage,"Dazed And Confused"
went down to a treat and featured the violin bow on guitar in the middle section.
Other songs performed on the day were .....
"Ramble On","Rock n Roll", "Communication Breakdown", "Since I've Been Lovin
You","Stairway To Heaven',"Kashmir", "Heartbreaker"
"Whole Lotta Love" it was a great day enjoyed by all who attended. The band
themselves had a blast performing those amazing
songs by a band that has inspired them from the start, many e-mails have been sent
in by those in attendance saying how much
they loved the show and would like to see it again.8Forty8 take pride in keeping the
amazing music of Led Zeppelin alive in a
live form on this side of the world, although they normally don't do a Zep show,
they often include renditions of Zeppelin, Deep Purple
and other classic rock group's material, a way of paying tribute to the music
they've always loved and enjoyed.

Update-September 05
Well for those of you who didn't already know, the release of the next album took a set back when bass player Craig broke his
wrist in 6 places at the start of the year. The band did some gigs as a 4 piece with Simon and Sam covering bass duties which
went off without a hitch. They played the "National Hog Rally" at The Waikato Stadium and closed the "Shake The Lake concert"
at Hamilton Lake where they were very well recieved and appreciated by the audience after delivering a no holds barred, balls
to the wall performance. Since then, Craig has healed and is back on the bass with avengence, the band have furthered the
recording which is now 95% complete and nearing the mixing stage. Christmas 04 saw the release of Axeman Paul Martin's
"Axe Attack Volume 1" the very best of New Zealand Metal cd which featured the 8Forty8 song "Out Of Mind" which has been
well recieved by both listeners and reviewers alike. The song has had airplay on "The Axe Attack"show on "The Rock" fm and on
"The Generator", "Out Of Mind" will also Feature on the forthcoming album. The band have also done a string of gigs recently
which have all gone down to treat, they are tighter and playing with more energy and enthusiasm than ever, and continue to gain
more loyal fans with each performance. The new album should now be complete early in the new year.

Album Update
The band is currently hard at work recording material for a new album due for release
sometime in early 2006. It will be loaded with killer riffs, screaming guitar solos, power
vocals and hook melodies. Pumping bass lines and catchy drum grooves, all the right
ingredients for a kick ass album in the classic rock mould. The band have used a variety of
classic instruments during the recording process, including Hammond organ through Leslie
speakers, and guitar through Leslie. Also expect to hear signature 8 forty 8 vocal harmonies.
The band believe the new material is the strongest yet, and are very excited to get this
sound out to the people. It's been a long time since the group's debut album ( Edge Of Time ),
so everyone's amping to get the band's current sound into your sterios, and into a live venue
near you. Many young people have'nt had the chance to see a real rock group performing music
the way it was meant to be, very soon they will get that chance. Stay posted.
The success of the band has always hinged upon good musicianship and excellent friendships, with the past members of the band having made huge contributions also...
